Afolabi Ogunsanya

Afolabi Ogunsanya heads the Corporate & Commercial practice at JANS. He advises Nigerian and international businesses on corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial contracts and regulatory compliance, and leads the firm’s tax and data protection work.
He works with founders, boards and investors, from early-stage companies to established businesses and foreign companies entering Nigeria. His work includes company formation and corporate secretarial matters, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, dealing with sector regulators, and compliance under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Tax Act 2025.
Afolabi holds an LL.B from the University of Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar after training at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus. He has practised law for over eleven years.
